West Ham United's brand new Umbro away kit for the 2009/10 season has officially been revealed and is available to pre-order now following the official launch on Thursday 18 June.
The new kit, modelled in the promo shots by players Jack Collison and Carlton Cole, uses a striking modern design that also respects the club's traditions by combining the popular dark blue that dates back to the Thames Ironworks with a bold sky blue panel. The state of the art fabric uses Umbro's innovative Climate Control technology to enhance the movement of moisture away from the body.
The new away goalkeeper shirt to be worn by England’s Robert Green has also been unveiled.
The new kits are sure to prove popular this summer with the club stores and the official online Megastore already reporting a brisk trade with supporters eager to make sure they will get the kit first and fastest.
Meanwhile, the new Everton home kit for 09/10 made by Le Coq Sportif has also been officially revealed. In the unveiling ceremony, Blues legend Howard Kendall revealed a huge banner which adorned the front of the new Everton Two @ Liverpool One store in Liverpool city centre. The banner showed Everton's player of the season, Phil Jagielka, wearing the kit.
The new strip, available from 27 June, is the first offering under Everton's new, record breaking deal with Kitbag - and the first provided by manufacturer Le Coq Sportif since the glory-laden 1980s.
Indeed, that was a significant factor in the design of this latest jersey. The white 'v' on the new shirt is reminiscent of the kit worn by the likes of Graeme Sharp, Kevin Ratcliffe, Peter Reid and Andy Gray almost 25 years ago, as they powered to league and European success in 1984/85.
And elsewhere, Sunderland have revealed the club’s new change kit for the 2009-10 Barclays Premier League season.
The modern, clean design features a predominantly white, round-necked shirt. This is complimented with striking carbon sleeves with a contrasting sulphur trim. Sulphur panels also feature on the back and sides of the shirt, which has a shadow stripe emboss to the front and back.
The shirt is complimented with white shorts in a lightweight, durable woven fabric. The shorts feature carbon panels to the sides and sulphur on the lumbar panel. White socks, with a carbon and sulpher turnover complete the clean visual aesthetic of the new kit.
Several features of the away kit replicate the home kit, including a performance crest housed within a shield to enable a clean finish to the inside of the garment, enhancing the comfort of the wearer. Additional club related elements include the inner back neck transfer detailing the garment lifespan and the Black Cat application to the back collar area.
SAFC marketing and commercial director, Lesley Callaghan said: "The new kit is a bold, modern design and the striking use of colour makes it ideal as a leisure shirt for the summer. It has already been very well received by our players and I'm sure the design and I'm sure it will prove popular with our fans."
