After 3 weeks of non-stop football, 30 pulsating games and 76 goals scored, the conclusion to Euro 2008 has arrived and the two pre-tournament favourites are soon to contest a fitting finale.
Chelsea all-action midfielder Michael Ballack remains a doubt for the final and his fitness may prove decisive on the outcome of the match. German striker Podolski could overtake Villa and become the tournament’s top goal scorer. Throughout the competition the German defence has looked shaky and keeper Lehman needs to be on top form tonight, incidentally he will become the oldest ever player to feature in a European Championships final at 38 years and 232 days. Whilst the German team hasn’t looked convincing, one can never rule out the Germans and they still have the ability to snatch a win and steal the trophy. Spain have proved popular with the neutral due to their brand of swift football. Spanish striker David Villa is in line to win the Golden Boot award however will not be able to play in the final due to a thigh injury. Arsenal central midfielder Cesc Fabregas is tipped to replace the Valencia man in the starting eleven, leaving Fernando Torres to play up front alone. Captain and goalkeeper Iker Casillas gives confidence to his defence and with the help of Senna in midfield, Spain will hope to keep the German front line out. Score Prediction: Germany 1 – Spain 2 The inclusion of Ballack in the team will be key if the Germans are going to be successful, but TF90M predicts a victory for Spain. Hopefully the final will be a great game to wrap up an ultimately great tournament.
