Netherlands Vs Russia
Football Culture
Written by James Bailey
The clear winners of Group C meet the runners up of Group D in what should be an attacking game of football.  Russia under the management of Hiddink have discovered their form after an initial drumming by Spain. Arshavin dictated the play in the victory against Sweden and will be key if Russia are going to progress. Hiddink famously led South Korea and Australia to the latter stages of previous international tournaments and he hopes to knock out his home nation tonight.

The Netherlands have delighted both the Dutch fans and neutrals with their form of attacking and fluid football. So far in the competition they have netted nine goals with seven different scorers. With an array of attacking options, Van Basten will have to chose carefully who he starts with after resting most of the players in their last match.

Score Prediction: Netherlands 3 – Russia 2

Russian goalkeeper Akinfeev has made the most saves in the tournament so far and will no doubt be busy again tonight. Both sides look forward and goals should be a certainty. It should be a thrilling game but TF90M believes Holland will just edge through into the semis.

Holland
The flowing football Holland displayed in the group stages was forgotten about as Russia dominated the entire game and should have finished the match off in normal time. Hiddink's men now meet the winner of Spain Vs Italy.
